Sometimes you get really wasted, and sometimes you end up in weird (TV)
episodes. It happened to me last Friday. I will tell you (not the whole) the story.
First of all, I went to see Pluk van de Petteflet to be followed by
Professor Plons with Channel. In the evening I rented the dvd The
Terminal, which I saw together with my mysterious friend ‘—-’. We drank
some beers and were heading out to club Nighttown, where there was a
Tsunami benefit. Man, it was fun! Especially when Speedy J came to play.
Around 05:00 I saw my friend ‘—-’ ending up in a barfight. I went up there
immediate, and jump through the streetfighters.
Then about 6 Nighttown guards jumped on ‘—-’. I was trying the whole time
to calm everyone down. But we both have been kicked out. My friend wanted
to go back to riot more, but I fortunately managed to get him out of there.
Then we went to my street where more shit was happening. It went from bad
to worse. I called Denny D to help me out, and he did. But I can’t go in on more
details, because around 05:30 I was arrested by the police for commiting public
violence. Instead I really was playing cop the whole time, you know! They should
f***king honour me instead of arrest me. By that time ‘—-’ was already on his
way home. In the police van I also got a summon for not having my passport with
me. That’s a new rule in the Netherlands. You have to have an I.D. with you (all
the time) when you’re on the streets (Welcome to KGB land!). When I was on my
way (still in the police van) to the police station I called Denny D to come to
the police station as well for his side of the story. But we’ve been put in the
cell for 6 hours. I mean what the F*** is that? They said nothing.. Finally at
09:30 I could tell my story to a detective. But for Denny D, who came to the
police station out of his own, It was more bizarre. He thought, I go there, tell
my story… Then free Gyz, etc. But they said nothing to him as well and he got
the same treatment as I did (Criminals, haha). He was at a cell next to me. He
was so pissed of. Every 15 minutes he was shouting: Hey when I get somebody
to talk to? It got on my nerves, because I had to laugh when he did that. I think
it had to do with the alcohol in my body. It’s really hard when you’re drunk to
spend six hours in jail, haha. And at 12:00 (Yes, the next day) they let us out.
What a day…

Here’s 4 images from the Basement Jaxx ‘Cish Cash’ video I first saw a couple
of days ago. I remember thinking ‘I have to put a post on our site on this intense
video’, but I forgot. Then, today Gyz and I were watching ‘Het bos ruikt naar
Shampoo’ (the woods smell like shampoo), a dutch (VPRO) Bonanza episode
about the work of Michel van Duyvenbode and Koert van Mensvoort, two
dutch artists who have quite some good stuff to say on reality. Especially when
you keep in mind that this episode hails from the year 2001. We’re fashionably
late, I suppose… Besides, if it wasn’t for Nicole’s need to find out all the secrets
of modern day perception, we might have never seen it at all. Thank you!
Anyway, all this somehow reminded me of that splendid video I had seen earlier.
The song (sung by Siouxsie Sioux) is evidently critical in the now-sense of the
word, —morally and politically engaged dance stuff (Which is a good thing!)— but
wait till you’ve seen the video in which communist power display meets american
Superbowl entertainment, as an amazing virtual choreography for army tanks,
helicopters and jet-fighters underline the madness and insatiability of the powers
we are dealing with on a daily basis.
In a weird way I found this a pretty optimistic video, it reminded me of the fact
that thinking, living humans choose construction over destruction. It‘s really,
really beautifull. Have a look! (real player link)

Tomorrow I’m DJ-ing an allniter on the occasion of the VERY last feverdream
performance with their initial bass player Saskia (who is, as before mentioned
on this website, going to be replaced by Bart Incense). Also Italian mad rockers
Red Worm’s Farm will be performing, whom I’ve never heard before. So…
Anyway, you might have found one of the twelve HUNDRED hand coloured
flyers (as seen on the standardly accompanying picture above). That sure was
a helluva job, but fortunately some of the good fairies joined and did that job
in aprox. 4 hours or so… pretty nice, huh?
Oh yeah, I’m really looking forward to playing records by myself all nite long.
So, please no idiot requests. it’s Nazi Dance Night, baby!

Sure, you can not go to the party Rotown, Off_Corso, Nighttown and Now&Wow
are throwing as a benefit for the victims of the Southeast Asia disaster and just
cough up some ten percent of your monthly income. But wouldn’t it be nice to
actually make a contribution simply by joining a sort of tribal celebration of
love and humanity? It might sound a little tacky, but just knowing people are
really trying to DO something about this horrific situation makes me feel real
enthusiastic and positive about this upcoming year.
Have a good one, so will the HuMobisten, for we’ve decided this year is going
to be the year of DO-ism, we’ve been contemplating long enough. Now it’s time
for some serious fun/work/action/all of the above. Expect the unexpectable…
