Geert Mul

It was 1997 when I first met Geert Mul. It was when I had my first exhibition
‘Game Over’ in showroom mama. He asked me if I wanted to do something
with videogames at the ‘Future’ nights in the Basement of Nighttown. So we
had some talks, and he introduced me in the making of videoloops and playing
on the MX-50 videomixer. That was a hell of a new game for me. From that
moment I was in control of the TV. I joined the Cut-Up VJ team, and so many
gigs followed. I learned a lot in that period. In 1999 I did an internship at the
office of Geert Mul. This guy has influenced me a lot, so check out his new
almost finished website.

Guess who’s Back!

That Guns n’ Roses post reminded me of this particular photograph, it’s taken
(probably) in february of the year 2003 —although I can’t believe it was only
two and a half years ago— It could also have been february 2002, but who
cares… It’s taken by Petra van Bennekum at a birthday party thrown in the
old Vlerk by birthday buddies Philip and Deniz who thought it nice if all their
visitors would show dressed up as their ultimate heroes.

Of course my friend De Nuge, who’s coming back today from a three month
business stay in Italy, came as Slash who at that time personified the ultimate
guitarplaying, pot smoking, dirty socks wearin’ Ruler of Bums. And maybe he
still does. Anyway, De Nuge is probably done w/ Slash as a role model, since
he’s been nothing but extremely busy doin’ god-knows-what on Italian beaches.
Boy, how I’ve been missing that sonofagun…

As for myself, being a somewhat obnoxious twat, I came dressed as Roman
emperor Nero, reaping mad laurels. ‘Disco Inferno, baby!’.

far out moment

if you’ve missed the ‘te gek moment’ screening at the GDMW festival (see
previous post for more detailed information) there’s this tremendous possibility
of catching it anyhow AND dance to the jazz stylings of DJ Jules Deeldert.

When is all this good fun? you ask, well… if you’re not too much of a big fat
illiterate bastard, you already knew because you read the above displayed
e-flyer. If you can’t read designed stuff, it’s next friday… round 9 in the pm.
