All the city planners and marketeers have found out since years that a city is a
brand. That you have to promote your city like it’s Coca Cola. ‘The creative city’
is the way local governments think nowadays.

You can see that in our city’s campaign ‘Rotterdam Durft’ which means ‘Rotterdam
Dares’. It’s all about showing off how creative our city is.

Some weeks ago all the cultural supplements in our city published an alternative
campaign called ‘Rotterdam Dooft’ which means ‘Rotterdam is about to be
Extinguished’. They show the other side of the local governments coin.

In the beautiful year 2001 we made the campaign ‘Rotterdam 2028’, which tells
you how the city would really get ‘BIG’… Judge for yourself!
