Linotype is a company that creates typefaces. One of their most known fonts is Helvetica, created by one Max Miedinger in 1957. In an earlier post we already discussed its fiftieth birthday. Now through Suzanne Allewelt I learned about the Linotype ‘50 years of Helvetica’ poster design competition which had been turned into an assignment in her typography class. I joined the contest and came up with this. I know, it’s ok, but I guess it ain’t no prizewinner. In my search for nice entries, I came upon not one, but two HuMobisten logos. Pretty bizarre, I’d say. That and two posters on Nikola Tesla…
The one I think beats the hell out of all the other posters, is the ‘even though you’re fifty…’ poster as displayed above here. The fact that Suusje made that one apparently says something about her special liking for old, grumpy men. Besides that it also looks rad. Good job, baby! Anyway, if I were you I’d vote for this.
