Ik was onlangs een avondje aan het tekenen en gek doen met de meisjes van Transister (die sinds kort hier een myspace ‘onderhouden’). Niet alleen hebben ze me kennis laten maken met immens grappige comedians, ze namen me ook mee op een trip down memory lane met Jacobse en van Es (samen voor ons eigen, laat de rest de rambam krijgen) die uitleggen wat Bamzaaien ook weer is en hoe geniaal Theo en Thea zijn.
Voor dezen van u niet familiair met de komische stijl-oefeningen van Theo & Thea: Arjan Ederveen en Tosca Niterink deden in de jaren ’80 van de vorige eeuw niets fout voor dezen van mijn generatie! Zie ook bovenstaand bewijs van hun vakmanschap. Geweldig ook dat ik heel klein was en Theo en Thea tussen de enorme voortanden en al die goeie grappen door wanhopig amateuristisch vond, terwijl ik nu –nu ik geen tien, elf of twaalf meer ben– pas zie hoe goed ze echt waren! de ene subtiele woordgrap na de andere vliegt voorbij en het acteerwerk is van een enorm hoog niveau. Check bovendien die leader nog eens goed, hoe geniaal kan je zijn?!?
Later, in Kreatief met Kurk-tijden (waarvan ik het basisboek nog altijd in mijn bezit koester) maakten ze onder anderen een geweldige parodie op Burton & Taylor in de tragi-komische sketch ‘Who’s afraid of communicatie’. Zie dat zitten!
I’m proud to invite you to the new interactive installation HORIZONS by Geert Mul
at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen Rotterdam.
Geert Mul (Alphen a/d Rijn, 1965) has developed an interactive installation
specially for the museum entitled Horizons. Mul links the museological concept
‘collection’ to its contemporary variant: the database. He has selected works
from the museum’s collection that depict horizons. A database with images
of these works is connected to video projectors and a thermographic camera
that records visitors’ movements. Mul thus creates an interactive and panoramic
image using pieces from the collection as building blocks. Horizons is intervention #4
within The Collection One and will be shown for the first time during Museumnacht.
I am looking foreward to see it. Damn! Geert Mul and me were always dreaming how
it would be to do a huge thing in Boijmans. Well things can happen as you can see..
Nog steeds ben ik een beetje aan het bijkomen van Jan Hart.

Two weeks ago MAMA initiated a satelite art fair simultaneously taking place with Art Rotterdam (you know, like de Kunstvlaai and de Kunst RAI). It was situated inside the legendary former post office at the Coolsingel. I went there and it was really great! All beautiful and inspiring stuff! I also did the graphic identity. T-shirts, ads, banners, flyers, the whole shebang. To let you in on how that looked, some images. Top: the Project(or) Art Fair poster.
