About twelve years ago Madeleine Berkhemer and me had an idea about a miniature fashion show. With dolls and Marklin trains and all. Some things don’t happen, and maybe for the best.. Who knows…
But I just bumped into this amazing show by our Dutch heroes Viktor & Rolf in London. So if you’re in London this summer, go and check out their show The House of Viktor & Rolf at the Barbican Art Gallery.
The exhibition is dominated by a gigantic doll house, a graceful three-level structure with Palladian proportions. “We are hoping we have built the largest doll house in the world”, said Rolf Snoeren.
Talking about Dolls, Dolls (Kitano Takeshi, 2002) is one of my favourite movies ever!

Zei ik een tijdje geleden nog dat Maxim H. de grappigste mensch op aarde is, ik neem het terug. Uiteraard is dat Kamagurka. Maar ik was ’m even vergeten. Kan gebeuren. Iemand die ook niet totaal ongrappig is, is Hans Teeuwen. Gelukkig hebben ze allebei eigen webruimtes, zodat we ze nu altijd kunnen zien, of ze nu willen of niet. Kamagurka is natuurlijk bij de krant en heeft daarom hier een plek die kamatube heet, Hans Teeuwen heeft zijn eigen plek en die zit hier. Kijk vooral Kama’s ‘Wilders is een amateur’ (‘dat haar met die rare man’) en van Hans ‘ik geloof niet meer in ouders’ Teeuwen is alles even leuk.

Op (of is het in?) de gedempte Zalmhaven komt hoogstwaarschijnlijk Rotterdams
(en Nederlands) hoogste gebouw van 210 meter. In 2011 is het zover, als je de nerds moet geloven online. Links in de verte (op het plaatje) zie je het Nationale
